Bumper Thai crop hits Queensland premiums
A record Thai sugar crop and the continuing global surplus has led to a real dog fight between Queensland and Thai exporters in Asian markets. As a result, Thai sugar is currently being traded at a discount to the ICE 11 and the traditional Far East premium enjoyed by Queensland exporters for many years is suffering.

Final 2017-Season Advances payment
QSL’s final Advances payment for the 2017 Season will be made next Friday, 20 July 2018. Please note that while this is the date that QSL will pay its milling suppliers and Wilmar Growers, mill and bank processing times may result in later local payment arrangements.

Sugar Code of Conduct Review
The Federal Government has announced a review of the Sugar Code of Conduct.. QSL has been expecting this review and welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback on the initial performance of the Code which helps to underpin the Marketing Choice of thousands of Queensland cane growers. We encourage all industry stakeholders to have their say before submissions close on 22 August 2018.

Annual Statement available
Wilmar Growers are advised that annual statements for the 2017/18 financial year are now available for download through QSL Direct. The statement can be found under the Financial Reports tab in the 2017 and/or 2018 Season sections of your QSL Direct account. The statement captures all QSL transactions for the ABN concerned for the period of 1 July 2017 through to 30 June 2018.The Quarterly Statement for Q4 2017/2018 is also available for download. QSL Market Update
Sugar prices were put on the back foot again, trading 100 points lower last week in the 12.20c/lb to 11.20c/lb range. This was led by a weaker Brazilian currency, declining ethanol prices and some indications of a more aggressive export policy from India.
