Wilmar Mills Update – Wet Weather Impact to Harvesting
• Wet weather has impacted harvesting across the Burdekin region today.
• Only a small number of harvesters are operating.
• Kalamia Mill ran out of cane about 9.20am.
• Inkerman Mill exhausted its available cane supply just before 1pm.
• Pioneer Mill is expected to run out of cane tonight.
• Invicta Mill has been reduced to single milling train operations and is currently expected to have enough cane to keep crushing until about midday tomorrow.
• We have brought forward Invicta’s scheduled B-side clean to avoid a stop next week.
• We are also planning caustic cleans at Inkerman and Kalamia mills.
• All sites will take advantage of the forced downtime to undertake maintenance and checks.
• Our logistics staff will monitor field conditions and the potential for harvesting, in consultation with growers and harvesting contractors.
