Australin Cane Farms is seeking a full time highly motivated and experienced Assistant Farmer Manager.
Based in the Burdekin regions, we are one of the largest growers in Australia with approximately 4,000 hectares under production.
The successful applicant will be part of a highly motivated forward-thinking team with access to the latest farming equipment and technologies available following best practice farming methods.
The role is a hands-on position for someone who is self-sufficient and enthusiastic with extensive sugar cane experience, who also wishes to gain further knowledge and continue to build their career within the sugar industry.
The successful applicant will need a strong work good ethic, be able to work on their own as well as in a team and complete all tasks given to a very high standard with a focus on safety at all times.
To be considered for this role the below criteria apply:
- 5-10 years’ experience in sugar cane production.
- Strong focus on Safety and WHS requirements.
- Strong working knowledge on flood irrigation systems.
- Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor teams.
- Understanding of chemical application and tractor operations.
- Prepare and maintain farm irrigation systems, machinery, equipment, and other resources.
- Ability to work weekends and extra hours if required.
- Be well organized and have attention to detail.
- Have good people skills and pride themselves on being week presented with a professional attitude.
