QSL Market Update – 09.10.2018
2018/2019 Annual Rates – Burdekin Shire Council
2018/2019 ANNUAL RATES – BURDEKIN SHIRE COUNCIL
Dear Members
Given the current downturn in the local sugar industry due to reduced tonnage and depressed market conditions, the four local collectives have conjointly lodged a submission to be tabled at yesterday’s council meeting for assistance to growers as well as the wider community facing financial hardship and who are not in a position to meet their annual rates.
A copy of submission is attached for your information and outcome of Burdekin Shire Council’s decision will be conveyed in due course.
Burdekin Shire Council’s current “Rates and Charges Hardship Policy” is attached for growers information.
Should members be having financial difficulty in meeting annual rates and wish to apply to Burdekin Shire Council for assistance via “hardship policy” please do not hesitate to contact this office for assistance.
Regards.
